The arrangement of electrons in an atom depends on two important parts of quantum theory. Dirac's equations sometimes yielded a negative value for energy, for which he proposed a novel solution: he posited the existence of an antielectron and of a dynamical vacuum. The occurrence of unitarily inequivalent representations (UIRs), which first seemed to cause problems specifically for the particle interpretation but which appears to carry over to the field interpretation, may well be a severe obstacle for any ontological interpretation of QFT.

This suggests they share the same underlying principle. The units of the Planck constant can also be viewed as energy times time. An attempt by Planck to reconcile his new hypothesis with the older laws of radiation failed in the essential points. The phenomenon of tunneling has many important applications. Newton wrote in Principia Mathmatica, "Absolute space in its nature without relation to anything external remains always similar and immovable. When we slowly take off our eye-glasses, for example, how far must we move them before they are an object rather than part of the observer?

Acclimating to the weirdness of quantum mechanics has become a physicists’ rite of passage. Thus QM explains how computers work, because computers are electronic machines. The broader philosophical implications were, ironically, ignored and swept under the carpet. Their properties can only be known by their interactions with other particles, and thus cannot be completely accurately established. (2) Particles are brought into existence by energetic events.

This is because "by the word 'experiment' we refer to a situation where we can tell others what we have done and what we have learned" so that "the account of the experimental arrangement and of the results of the observations must be expressed in unambiguous language with suitable application of the terminology of the classical physics". Touching, petting, handling, and gentle talking emerged as a crucial determinant in the disease process.

A teacher new to the school (Ann-Marie MacDonald) is appalled by the mistreatment the children receive, by so-called ``God`s work`` that includes beatings, lies about parents being dead, and forced lesbianism. Anyone into Forteana or scientific spiritualism absolutely loves this stuff. Quantum electrodynamics "resolves" this wave-particle duality by saying that light is made of particles (as Newton originally thought), but the price of this great advancement of science is a retreat by physics to the position of being able to calculate only the probability that a photon will hit a detector, without offering a good model of how it actually happens. [p.37] It is worse than that, since Feynman himself must say that the light goes everywhere at once, follows all possible paths, which is something a single finite particle can't do, regardless of the probability of where it may be found by a detector (cf. p.46, about diffraction gratings).

It is one general and non-technical view, and there are of course other views around, but it is overall a reasonable view backed by numbers of modern physicists though currently a minority. The Feynman path integral process, seems to me, to tie in better with a HV interpretation, rather than MW. Heisenberg's explanation is: There is some law that says what frequencies of light glowing hydrogen will produce. Antonio Sciarretta, A realistic interpretation of quantum mechanics.

Speaking about reality, quantum theory brings the question to the fore: Are we discovering reality, or creating it? But Einstein’s view has been completely shattered by the measurement problem of quantum mechanics.

Thus, e.g., if members in a event, direction x with 1/3 probability, and direction y with 2/3 probability, then this is a unitary outcome, since the probabilities of x + y occurring add up to 1. The answer to this question arrived at by New Age advocates is the source of Christianity Today’s lament that quantum mechanics is the modern Goliath. Since that existential crisis, I’ve always wondered why there was something instead of nothing. Once superintelligence has been obtained, human-level intelligence in and of itself presents no existential risk to such a being.

Using today's gamma-ray detectors, it should be possible to see this effect. The notion of these photons comes from quantum theory (and from Einstein directly, who first introduced them in 1905 as "light quanta"). In 1954 Albert Einstein wrote to his friend Michael Besso expressing his frustration; All these fifty years of conscious brooding have brought me no nearer to the answer to the question, 'What are light quanta?' Nowadays every Tom, Dick and Harry thinks he knows it, but he is mistaken. (Albert Einstein, 1954) Most importantly, Albert Einstein also suspected that Matter could not be described by a continuous spherical force field; I consider it quite possible that physics cannot be based on the field concept, i.e., on continuous structures.

One way to tell if a system is entangled is to use it to violate a Bell inequality (such as the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt, CHSH, inequality), because entanglement is necessary to violate these inequalities. We invented quantum mechanics to explain small things such as electrons because our everyday understanding of the world fails to explain them. Curiously though, in this popular view, it is never pointed out that in fact, the past fits the above description to a tee. Schrödinger, for example, referring to the new physics that he himself was helping to create, famously said, “I don’t like it, and I’m sorry I ever had anything to do with it.” Not being able to find the words to describe the majesty of what they had discovered, the founding fathers of quantum theory “fell into stammering” when asked to discuss the implications of their own theories.
